Labrador Welfare

Labrador Welfare is a small, breed-specific registered charity (No. 1012192), run entirely by a small group of unpaid but very dedicated volunteers who work hard to rescue and rehome Labrador Retrievers that, through no fault of their own, need new homes.

Operation Max

Operation Max is LABRADOR WELFARE'S Special fundraising campaign which was set up with ME as its inspiration and  AmbasaDOR to support the charities sponsor dog scheme.

Sponsor Dog Scheme

The Labrador Welfare Sponsor Dog Scheme helps dogs rehomed by the charity that have know medical conditions that require ongoing medication or where it is anticipated that the dog may need an operation in the future to alleviate exacerbation or degeneration of a know condition. Adopters can then freely offer a home to a dog knowing they are not taking on a financial liability for any pre-existing condition which can not be covered by veterinary fee insurance.

ABOUT MAX

Max was just over a year old when he came to us. Born with both bilateral hip and elbow dysplasia. The poor lad didn't have good leg to stand on.

Max is lucky to be a Labrador Welfare sponsor dog the charity pay for his treatments But as adoptive owners we were faced with a stark choice - accept the funding for four costly major surgeries or have him put to sleep. So Max inspired our own fundraising campaign to at least cover his costs it is named 'Limpylabmax' after him.

Max is also the face of Labrador Welfare's  OPERATION MAX and an ‘AmbasADOR’ for the charity

Max has a popular X (twitter) diary and Facebook page both @limpylabmax which follow his progress through the four scheduled operations he needs to live a full pain-free life.
